Musto Academy of Excellence  inaugurated with The Royal Yachting Association to encourage, reward and support young sailors aspiring to represent Great Britain in the Olympic classes

2006 March 2006 saw the launch of the new Dinghy Collection.

The collection has been designed by dinghy sailors for dinghy sailors and received input from all Musto’s sponsored sailors.  The range is packed with technical features and provides high levels of comfort.

ABN AMRO 1 won the Volvo Ocean Race skippered by Mike Sanderson wearing Musto’s HPX – June 2006

Polly Jackson joined the Musto stable in July to assist in launching Musto’s new Innovation Collection the equestrian 3-layer system which comprises of GORE-TEX Soft Shell Jacket, Windproof Zip Neck Fleece and Long Sleeve Zipped Turtle Neck and Short Sleeve Crew Neck all styled for women.

Sporting Ladies Collection created specifically for the lady gun.  From colour to fit, material to garment weight, a stylish range designed to look good and feel great whilst providing the levels of performance you expect from Musto.

Marketing Director, Simon Payne became the Moth World Champion in August 2006.

Ellen MacArthur

Ellen MacArthur breaks solo round the world record. Mike Golding achieves 3rd place in the Vendée Globe. Musto sponsored young sailors Justin Visser and Simon Wheeler came 4th in Open Worlds and gained gold in Under 19 section in San Francisco. (71 days, 14 hours, 18 minutes, 33 seconds) on 75ft Trimeran B&Q. Ellen wears Musto HPX oilskins choosing chest-high trousers over which she wears a smock top with no zips.

william fox pitt

William Fox-Pitt wins Team Silver at Athens Olympics wearing Musto. Musto-sponsored Karen Bassett wins National Four in Hand Carriage Driving Championships. Musto selected as Official Clothing Supplier for Volvo Ocean Race 2005/6. Despite being forced out with injury to his horse Tamarillo in the latter stages, Fox Pitt comes away with a silver medal.

Musto wins official merchandise contract for Nautor Swan European and American Regattas and Swan 45 Class. Musto teams up with William Fox-Pitt, ranked world NO.1 of 3-Day Eventing in 2002. Musto partners up with Pinnell & Bax Race Team.

Olivier de Kersauson sets off in ‘Geronimo’ in an attempt to beat Jules Verne Record. The crew were kitted out in Musto. Ellen MacArthur wins the Route du Rhum in Kingfisher wearing HPX. Musto wins official merchandise contract for Nautor Swan Cup 2002.

Ellen MacArthur becomes youngest and fastest woman to sail around the world. Musto wins official merchandise contract for the GBR Challenge. Musto joins forces with Olympic Gold Medallist Iain Percy.

BT Global Challenge finishes with no losses and HPX technology completes over 2 million ocean miles in one event. This is estimated as being the biggest research and development trial ever undertaken.
